you look marvelous….

In my opinion, beside increased belly rubbing by others, I’ve noticed that people either when finding out that you are pregnant or are seeing how you are doing, say “wow, you look great“….okay, so it’s not the infamous Billy Crystal “you look marvelous” as my title suggested…but we digress…

I guess it just happens so often that:

…either my rosy cheeks are just really becoming…and I do look great!

…or (when discussing this with my husband), maybe it’s that people expect a woman in her 7th month (or I guess, at any point in the pregnancy) to just look tired, haggardly etc etc… but what about that pregnancy “glow”……?

…or, the one that I hope isn’t the case — people are like “whoa, how do I tell this lady that she needs to do something about  fill-in-the-blank”. Maybe my cheeks are not Disney-pretty but look like a bad case of clown blush, or maybe my belly shows more stretch marks but by the sheer size and shape of my belly, I can’t see them…

or, or….NAH…….I look marvelous!

And that’s just what I will ponder while munching on another cherry popsicle stick. After all, my lips have to match my cheeks!

Because according to Billy Crystal’s Marvelous video: “Don’t be a snook. It’s not about how you feel, it’s about how you look“!

7th heaven

…..so we are now in our 7th month…officially our 29th week (almost 30!) *gasp* (it’s kind of the same feeling when I was turning 30 myself..:P)

belly

This is actually not this weeks picture….maybe a couple of weeks ago….sorry, we’ve been slacking on the upload!

Baby Dot is the size of a big and beautiful butternut squash!

There are certainly times when upon waking up, my belly certainly looks like one! He’s apparently around 2.5 lbs and 15in long….maybe longer — we’ve seen the ultrasound pics!

People always ask “so how is the pregnancy going”…and you know what, it’s really a fantastic pregnancy — no complaining here. Sure, I’ve had a couple of times of vomiting and the all day nausea, the round ligament pain when I move too quickly, the 25lbs weight gain and the pubic bone pain that I am now experiencing — but I love being pregnant! It is so worth it. (Mind you, ask me again after labour! :P ) But, honestly, I get rosy cheeks all day (don’t have to worry about putting on blush), I get to go shopping every so often for new fitting clothes, my nails are growing faster and the best most wonderful part of it all is that I know there is a little baby growing inside of me. And I just smile inwardly and outwardly every time I feel him move. It’s so neat experiencing a move or kick, and now with the movements changing to more “fluid” yoga-like feels —- it’s just really, really neat. Every time, he’s doing his thing, I quickly look in hopes of seeing an imprint of an actual foot or hand, like some say that I might see. Oh, will that be a glorious moment.

We’ve been noticing that little Dot definitely has a side preference — he doesn’t really like it when I am laying on my right side. I get little nudges, little pokes, maybe even what feels like toes wriggling…and if I don’t move to my left side — BAM! a HUGE kick!!! At least, he was trying to be subtle and gentle about it — but baby definitely has his likes and dislikes!

We’ve been busy decorating/organizing the nursery. I made the valances and curtain for the room and put up pictures and frames.

The first picture is when the curtains are open — they are pinched and cinched in the back with this cute little button/sash number I created. During the evening, I can just un-cinch and insta-privacy! :)

I plan on making the crib bedskirt and other decor stuff. Oh yeah, and the rug! I know you are shocked with me undertaking such a project (actually, those that know me probably aren’t shocked at all!!) —- but I am going to try my hand at a rag rug…details and pics to follow! :) Thanks Laura-Jane, you gave very easy instructions and I look forward to making this rug!

It’s also been neat setting up our first pediatrician’s appointment and a few trips to Babies R’ Us for our registry. These are tasks that haven’t been part of our routine before and so it’s just really neat first experiencing them.

And oh yeah!!!! We (my mother in law and I) found an amazing deal on a stroller/car seat…ahem, a travel system. Now, our baby has a system for traveling. :) We purchased the Wesley from Graco — I definitely have a ridiculous affinity overwhelming fascination like for blue/brown color schemes — so this carriage was perfect!

Well, actually, he will need a system – for immediately after his birth, we need to register him and get his passport — yes, yes, already a frequent flier jet-setter baby! Well, we will be driving, not flying, but only a month old, we have 2 weddings to go to in the States……

Now, we just need a middle name……still working on that. Any suggestions?? :)

And no, I can’t tell you the first name, no matter how much that would help you out! :)
